Join the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry and enjoy the numerous membership benefits afforded to our Community.

A symbol of professionalism – as a company member you may display the SAACI logo on your company letterheads, business cards, promotional and marketing material.  This will identify you as a professional in the field with the highest ethical standards.  Experience has shown that clients give preference to SAACI members.

SAACI Website – as a paid up member you will be included on the membership database which in turn will be linked to the SAACI ‘Find A Member’ search on the SAACI website.  Your listing on the website is determined by your Forum and Branch within the SAACI Community.  This makes your company and the services you offer widely accessible via a trusted source.

Educational Events & Networking – each of the four regional Branches host regular social and education events throughout the year.  These meetings provide an invaluable networking opportunity for the SAACI Community.  They also allow our members to showcase their venues, products and other services.  It is also an opportunity to keep yourself updated on offerings and innovations.

Annual Congress & Exhibition – this is a much anticipated event which circulates annual through each of the four Branches.  There are a number of presentations by top local and international business event experts, as well as a chance to meet with your colleagues from around the country to exchange ideas.  As a member you enjoy preferential rates for the congress and discounts are offered on accommodation, travel, etc.

Business Events Africa – you will enjoy a complimentary copy of our monthly journal in either hardcopy or electronically.  This publication is seen as a definitive source of information for the business events industry.  This magazine is also distributed to many corporate and government meeting planners, so you might decide to take up some advertising or editorial space at a fee.

Yearbook – every year the June edition of the Business Events Africa magazine is in the form of a Yearbook detailing all suppliers of conference, meeting and event related services and products.  It has become known in the industry as an invaluable reference to the business events industry.  As a member you will be listed in this prestigious book complimentary.

Have your say – SAACI encourages its Community to play an active role at all levels within the organisation.  Voice your opinion and help improve the standards and professionalism within the business events industry in Southern Africa.

Lobby – SAACI is a member of the Tourism Business Council for South Africa.  This is the umbrella organisation representing organised business in the South African travel and tourism industry.  Their mandate is to lobby the public sector, facilitate identified industry programmes and to monitor and influence macro-economic development.  SAACI is represented both at CEO Forum as well as on the Board of the TBCSA.  Through them we also have a voice with BUSA (Business Unity South Africa).

NDT – SAACI has a very good relationship with the National Department of Tourism.  The Minister of Tourism Minister van Schalkwyk has opened the SAACI Annual Congress and Exhibition for a number of years now.

SAACI currently has four membership categories:

Individual Membership – this belongs to the person in their personal capacity and does not represent the company.  The membership is not transferable should the person leave the employ of the company.  It is suggested that only an owner or director applies for this membership but it is not mandatory.

o   Company A Membership – this is a company membership which allows for three representatives to be listed.  They may be situated in any of the four branches of SAACI.

o   Company B Membership – this is a company membership which allows for eight representatives to be listed.  They may be situated in any of the four branches of SAACI.

o   Patron membership – this is a prestigious company membership which allows for twenty representatives to be listed.  They may be situated in any of the four branches of SAACI.
