Tshifhiwa Mamaila

Tshifhiwa Mamaila completed his Masters degree in Social development in 2005 at the University of Pretoria and his BA (Honours) degree in Social Work in 1996. He worked for different sectors in South Africa including Public / Government, Private Sector, NGO, Hospital, Mining, Correctional Services and he is currently an Employee Wellness Specialist and Consultant in Private practice. 

He has been involved in the Counselling, Employee Wellness, HIV and AIDS field for fifteen years as an Employee Wellness manager, EAP practitioner and Social worker. He has been exposed to a number of training as part of his continued professional development such as: Investment in Excellence, Franklin Covey’s seven habits, Project Management, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Hypnotherapy, Reiki Master and Regression.

He has served in the Employee Assistance Professionals Association since 2007 holding the following portfolios: Marketing, Vice President, President and now the Immediate Past President of the Association. He has won an International award for his role as the President of EAPA during the 2013 World EAP conference in Phoenix Arizona.

He has presented at national conferences and represented EAPA-SA at international conferences including being a guest speaker at the ICCA African Chapter conference in Arusha. He is now a member of the conference programme planning panel for the 2014 World EAP conference in Florida.

Mark Berger
Mark Berger is a prodigy of the human potential movement. He attended his first personal development workshop at the tender age of 12. This life changing program set him on a journey of self-discovery which continues to this day.

Dr Steve Harris

Dr Steve Harris has been studying performance for thirty years of which fifteen have been devoted to performance improvement through an integrated mind and body approach.

His Masters’ dissertation at the University of Cape Town focused on business performance improvement.  He followed this with a PhD thesis on Mental Toughness as a factor in performance.

Conrad Travis David

Conrad was born and raised in Durban till the age of 15 where he attended Primary and Junior High School
before relocating to Table View Cape Town where he spent the next 10 years.

After matriculating in 2003, Conrad enrolled at Cape Peninsula University of Technology where he pursued
his passion in Marketing and Advertising. In his spare time he spent evenings around movie production
studios as an extra for Hollywood Productions in the City of Cape Town.

In 2007 Conrad started to climb the corporate Ladder as a Sales Representative within the Petroleum
Industry where he first learn how to deal with customers and pitch projects to senior management.

In 2008 Conrad ventured to London to pursue a career in Advertising,Shortly after he acquired a position at a
Skills development college, where he educated foreigners on using computers. It was here that he grasped
the concept of world communication and connection and how similar we as mankind are once we relate to a
focused idea.

In 2009 Conrad returned to Cape Town South Africa and acquired a position as the Operations Manager
within the telecommunication industry.

In 2010 Conrad embarked back to his Home city, Durban.Where he pursued a career as an entrepreneur.
Being a computer user since 1992, Conrad has always engrossed all his activity around IT. Understanding
the Ones and Zeros to its simplicity and transferring information regardless of his geographical location.
Hashtag South Africa was the concept birthed out of the National Development Plan 2030 for South
Africa, where he has identified the problems in his sphere and created actionable solutions for the next 17
years. Hashtag South Africa has won Best NewComer of the year in 2013 with a KZN Incubator and gained
National Recognition by an online publication listing Hashtag SA as the Top 10 most Innovative Startups In
South Africa in June 2014.

Jason Xenopoulos

Jason is a creative director, filmmaker and media entrepreneur whose creative ventures have spanned all areas of the media industry from film and television to music and the internet.

Jason currently holds the position of CEO and Chief Creative Officer at NATIVE VML, Africa’s leading Digital Agency Network.

In 1993 Jason graduated from New York University with an honors degree (summa cum laude) in Film and Television.

In 1994, Jason founded VWV Interactive, which rapidly grew to be South Africa’s leading web development company. When Primedia acquired a stake in VWV Jason joined the PRIMEDIA Group where he was instrumental in driving Primedia's R1,5 billion acquisition of Ster-Kinekor.

As CEO of Primedia Pictures between 1997 - 1998, Jason was involved in the development and production of various projects including Boesman & Lena, starring Danny Glover and Angela Basset.
From 1998 - 2000 Jason held the position of CEO at Metropolis Transactive, an Internet Media company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. At the age of 28, Jason was the youngest CEO of a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

In 2001, Jason completed his first feature film as writer-director, Promised Land, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and went on to win several international awards including: The Best Feature Film award at the Apollo Film Festival; The Best Screenplay Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival; The Best Editing award at FESPACO in Burkina Faso; Best Picture Editing and Best Sound Design from The South African Guild of Editors and a Special Mention at the African Cinema Festival in Milan.

In addition to his work as a feature film director, Jason has directed a host of award-winning TV commercials for leading brands such as Johnny Walker, Guinness, Caltex, MTN, Pick n Pay, Unilever, Bells & J&B.
The most striking of these commercial productions was an audacious piece of Branded Entertainment for Guinness called Critical Assignment (2004). One of the first brand-funded feature films ever made, Critical Assignment went on to win the Jury Award at the Hollywood Black Film Festival and the award for Best West African Picture at the Screen National Film & TV Awards in London. Critical Assignment was selected as the Opening Night Screening at the 11th New York African Film Festival.
From 2004 – 2007, Jason held the position of Executive Creative Director at Y&R South Africa where he played an instrumental role in winning several major accounts.

In 2008, Jason co-founded 2.0 Media, a Branded Entertainment Agency, where he served as Chief Creative Officer.
Jason ranked in the Top 5 Most Highly Awarded film directors at the 2010 Loerie Awards Festival where he won Campaign Gold and Campaign Silver awards.
The following year he snapped up the highly-coveted Bookmark 2011 award for Best individual contribution to SA Digital Media and Marketing.

Over the pat 3 years, under Jason’s leadership, NATIVE has won many awards including the Creative Circle’s Ad of the Month and Digital Ad of the Quarter awards, Assegais, Bookmarks, and Loeries awards, spanning diverse categories from digitial, mobile and identity design, to alternative media and Integrated.
Jason is currently a finalist in the African Chapter of the presitgious Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Awards.

In June 2013, NATIVE joined forces with VML, one of the world’s leading digital agency networks, to form NATIVE VML, the first digital agency network of its kind in Africa.


Nicci Diederichs Mander

Nicci is a Professional Sustainability Practitioner and is the Managing Director of FutureWorks, one of South Africa’s leading environmental consulting companies. She has over 16 years’ experience in assisting businesses and governments to understand and integrate environmental, social and economic sustainability into policy and practice. She has developed a number of provincial and national strategies, including the KZN Green Economy Strategy, and published numerous popular guides and books on various sustainability topics.

From 2007 to 2012, Nicci led the development and implementation of two major event greening programmes for the Durban 2010 FIFA World Cup and the COP17/CMP7 convention in Durban. Both programmes were the recipients of multiple national awards. Through this work, new approaches were explored on how major events could catalyse improved environmental and social sustainability on a large scale, including in city-wide infrastructure and in the hospitality industry. As a result, new benchmarks have been set for event greening in South Africa.


Belinda Davies

Belinda Davies has been an executive coach since 2002, in addition to 25 years of experience in business, people development and strategic learning and development.

Her speciality areas are leadership and strategy. She is a past-President of COMENSA and is currently Chairman of the COMENSA Ethics Portfolio Committee. She is also a member of the Institute of Directors.

Economist: Alex Smith

Alex began his career in the financial markets, working as an investment analyst at BJM, (which has subsequently become FNB Securities) providing macro research to the chief investment officer.

He later moved to the economics department of FNB, where he currently works under the chief economist Sizwe Nxedlana. Alex is a member of Ashburton’s investment committee and is a contributor to FNB’s economic forecasts.
